In the business world, there are few things as frightening to a business owner as the prospect of Bankruptcy.  This is so true, that many businesses will be run into the ground before their owners understand that Bankruptcy exists not just to get them out of business or shut down but, rather, Bankruptcy exists to help reorganize businesses so that they can continue to play a role in our economy.  It is the only system which exists to help keep businesses healthy, or return businesses to health.  As such, Bankruptcy plays an important role in our national economy.  We have over 25 years of experience working with small to medium businesses in trouble.  We have designed non-bankruptcy work outs, bankruptcy reorganizations, and orderly liquidations.  We work with each business to find the source of the trouble, design solutions, and then use the tools at our disposal to implement those solutions.  We are not business advisors.  We do not try to reshape your business, or tell you how to conduct your business.  What we do is to apply 25 years of experience of working with failing businesses to help you adjust your business means, methods, or capital, to make the outcome work for you.

All commercial bankruptcy cases are handled on an hourly fee basis.  The usual retainer for pre-bankruptcy investigation and issue determination is between $5,000.00 and $30,000.00.  Any unused balance of this retainer can be applied to an initial Bankruptcy engagement.  Bankruptcy engagements are usually begun with a retainer of $5,000 to $75,000 depending upon the complexity of the case.  Once the Bankruptcy case is filed, all further compensation is obtained only through permission of the Bankruptcy Court.  Fees for a Chapter 7 Liquidation usually do not exceed $5,000.  Fees for a Chapter 11 Reorganization usually range between $25,000 and $200,000 depending upon the case.  Of course, every case is different and fees vary with complexity, adversity, and amount of time devoted to the case.

Finally, we provide creditor representation in bankruptcy cases.  We handle complex litigation, adversary proceedings, and motion hearings in bankruptcy courts.

We are proud members of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
